Jannah Manansala

Jannah Manansala has practiced with Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld since graduating law school in 2006. Now a shareholder, Ms. Manansala represents workers, unions, and employee benefit plans in state and federal courts, labor arbitrations, and administrative hearings. She also regularly provides counsel to union staff and in-house legal staff on various issues including personnel matters, potential and ongoing litigation, and unfair labor practices.

Ms. Manansala’s litigation experience spans a broad range. She has litigated wage-and-hour class and collective actions and cases involving employment harassment and discrimination, First Amendment rights, torts, ERISA and withdrawal liability, bankruptcy, and various other aspects of labor and employment law. Ms. Manansala’s experience also covers class action claims based on violations of local living wage ordinances and the Displaced Janitors Opportunity Act.

In addition to litigation, Ms. Manansala regularly provides trainings to workers, union staff, and community groups regarding anti-discrimination laws, California and federal leave laws and employee disability rights, wage-and-hour law, civil disobedience, unfair labor practices, and immigration law. She currently serves as the firm’s EEO officer, regularly conducts employment investigations, and advises clients, allies, and legislative consultants regarding labor and employment legislation. 

Ms. Manansala is actively involved in the labor and employment legal community beyond her practice. She has presented on labor and employment topics for various audiences at the UC Berkeley School of Law, the UC Berkeley Labor Center, the California Employment Lawyers Association, and the State Bar of California.” Ms. Manansala also currently serves as faculty for the Berkeley School of Law and teaches a seminar covering labor and employment law topics. She previously contributed public sector case notes to the California Labor and Employment Law Review. Ms. Manansala has also participated in a small working group regarding the feasibility of local enforcement of anti-discrimination laws in California. Finally, Ms. Manansala currently serves on the Board of Directors for the AFL-CIO’s Union Lawyers Alliance.

After graduating magna cum laude from Amherst College in 2003, Ms. Manansala earned her juris doctor from UC Davis School of Law in 2006 with distinction as a member of the Order of the Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy. 

Ms. Manansala is licensed to practice law in California. In addition to her legal career, Ms. Manansala often engages in professional photography.
