Antonio Ruiz is a shareholder and the firm’s managing partner. He joined Weinberg, Roger and Rosenfeld in 1995.
Mr. Ruiz provides general representation of labor unions in the private and public sectors. He regularly appears in state and federal courts and before the National Labor Relations Board. Mr. Ruiz also represents individuals suffering catastrophic injuries in third-party litigation. Within his representation of various labor unions, Mr. Ruiz regularly works with SEIU Local 1877’s Justice for Janitors Campaign—one of numerous successful organizing campaigns on which he has assisted in developing and implementing organizing strategies. Mr. Ruiz also regularly advises clients concerning wage-and-hour issues and has litigated several class actions.
Mr. Ruiz also brings to bear expertise in immigration law. In this practice, Mr. Ruiz regularly advises labor unions on a spectrum of immigration issues as they arise in the labor context, including no-match letters, I-9 verification, and unlawful reverification.
Prior to joining WRR, Mr. Ruiz was an associate with Reich, Adell, Crost and Cuiton and worked during law school for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
