NLRB Releases Labor Law App for Smart Phones

The NLRB has stepped into the 21st Century this weekend with its unveiling of its mobile App for iPhones and Androids.  The App serves to educate employees, unions, and employers on their rights and duties under the National Labor Relations Act.  In addition to providing brief summaries of labor law, it provides the contact information for NLRB regional offices.

In 2012, the NLRB recorded over 82,000 inquiries on workplace issues.  As low-wage workers in the fast-food industry and elsewhere rise up to demand a voice at the bargaining table, it is important that they are aware of their right to concerted activity.

This App could prove to be a valuable tool for employees to have at their fingertips.  Not only does it create awareness of the NLRA, it also provides a mechanism to easily report unfair labor practices.
