USCIS Advises Continued Use of Current I-9 Even After Expiration Date

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently advised employers to continue using the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, available here, until further notice.  The current version of the form will continue to be effective even after the OMB control number expiration date of August 31, 2012 has passed.  Employers must complete Form I-9 for all newly-hired employees to verify their identity and work authorization.
