In 2005, he was elected Council President for his union and served on the Steering Committee of the Massachusetts Jobs with Justice campaign.

Prior to law school, Mr. Thomas worked with the University of Massachusetts Labor Resource Center, also serving as Shop Steward for his local council of the Classified Staff Unit of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. During law school, he interned with two notable Boston area union-side law firms. Mr. Thomas was also selected for an internship with the General Counsel’s office of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. In 2012, Mr. Thomas worked as a distinguished Peggy Browning fellow and was awarded a first place designation in the area of mediation advocacy by the International Academy of Dispute Resolution. Following law school, he obtained a graduate certificate in mediation and dispute resolution from California State University, Northridge.

Mr. Thomas joined Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld in 2017. He brings to the firm his prior experience as an ERISA Attorney with two other union-side labor law firms in the Los Angeles area and will continue to counsel various health plans, pension plans and disability plans on internal business affairs, transactional matters and regulatory compliance under federal laws and regulations within the jurisdiction of the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.

In addition, Mr. Thomas litigates on behalf of public and private sector unions and their members, and provides advice on traditional labor matters, including discipline and contract interpretation arbitrations, and matters arising under the jurisdiction of the National Labor Relations Board and California Public Employee Relations Board.

Mr. Thomas received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2013, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He is a proud member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
